Science – Little Einsteins

About This Project

Little Einsteins -Science is an experiment based programme that teaches the fundamental concepts of science through experimentation, observation and conceptual understanding.

To help students understand concepts by doing experiments – When students do the experiments, they can relate to the observations and results and hence understanding and retention of fundamental concepts of Science are better.
To eliminate the fear of Science – Students are scared when they do not understand or know something. The process of doing the experiments results in better understanding of Science which in turn eliminates the fear in the child

The curriculum is meant for experimentation, observation, conceptual understanding and not memorising. The children perform the experiments from Bhumi kits containing several interesting experiments. The students perform the experiments themselves facilitated by volunteer teachers.

To pique the curiosity of the students, several questions have been included after each experiment also the students are encouraged to work in groups rather than as individuals to facilitate peer and self- learning.

The students also participate in a Science exhibition each year where models created by them with volunteer assistance are exhibited to their peers from other shelter homes.

Ongoing at Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Pune, Thanjavur and Tiruchirapalli.
